2008 The first dry day for what seemed the entire summer, greeted the runners at this years 10k race. The ground remained boggy and slippy, and the addition of an overnight tree fall conspired to slow the runners a little. The organisers would like to say a very big thank you to all runners, organisers, marshalls and general helpers for their kind and essential support. We do hope that you will make this date a repeat exercise for next year and look forward to seeing you all then! 2007Runners found that summer had finally arrived, and I suspect that the sudden change in weather attracted a few potential runners to head off to the beach as the numbers were a little down on prior years. However the crowds were bigger than normal and a great number came to watch the start and finish of the race. The usual hilly and mixed terrain race tested all participants with the increased temperature and the first man home - Tim Hughes (37.23) a prior winner was a little slower than in the previous year when he came second. I suspect running the Torbay 10K the night before may have had a little impact also. The first lady home was Donna Jenkin posting a very good 45.22 and like Tim was also the first veteran home in her category.Harry Moore - who at 75yrs young is one of the runs regulars and constantly proves that age is no barrier to achievement. Well done Harry on another succesful completion of the Lustleigh show run, we look forward to seeing you in 2008We always have a local cup which goes to the first Lustleigh Resident to return home and for the 5th year in a row this was won by Andrew Smerdon (47.03).A big thank you to all the helpers- Leonie, Don, Rob, Jon and Phil, more hands really do make light work and to Buzz for marshalling again this year and for Benjamin and Ollie who willing assist in controlling the traffic. The show was a great success again and pictures will be posted soon, I hope that you will all return next year and encourage your running friends to do the same.In 2006 there was a new winner - Pete Waumsley, he set a blistering pace and in doing so established a new course record (34.49). We hope will return in 2007 to defend his title, and to encourage previous winners to train even harder.2006Lustleigh Show will once again host it's annual 10K race. As usual the route will have a mix of road, trail and footpath. The route is the same as has been run for the last 5 years and is a mixture of hills and undulating trails. The runners make a great spectacle on the day and the race whilst challenging is also great fun.The fee for the race also includes your fee for the show as bringing the family to enjoy the day has always proven very popular with so many events to enjoy.2005Thank you to all the runners that attended the show run this year. On one of the hottest days in August a fantastic turnout saw a great race with many new as well as many regular runners enjoying the event.Due to a computer blow up the following day, the results have been delayed but attached is a summary document to give the most up to date results. Some of you did not receive the medal due to you for taking part. Please go to the contacts page to e mail us if you did not receive a medal last year.Thank you once again for coming and we look forward to seeing you all again next year. For 2005 results listeFor 2006 results list |
